The last week has consisted of getting the main parts of my first painting completed. Most of my background is now finished, and now I can start to render the doll. I feel like I just want to save that part as long as possible because I know it's going to be my favorite. (Relax, Lexi, you get to do the same doll five times.)

On another note, the last week was also a pain (a wonderful art pain) which consisted of making a ton of reference images for my second painting. Photoshop is my best friend for putting my references together. I unrolled my second canvas and got started drawing. I'm so excited for this one, but it has made me feel a lot of different emotions. Painterly emotions. The colors are so "ugh," the composition is so "ah," and all I can do is talk like a caveman about it. I don't think I've ever created a body of work that makes me feel so strange.
I don't have many concerns at this point, mainly excitement. I plan to complete these two by the end of the month to stay on schedule. There's so little time and so much work to be done.
